The present invention discloses a 2D and 3D image display device. More particularly, the present invention relates to a 2D/3D switchable autostereoscopic display device which can adaptively realize 2D and 3D images by using two lenticular lenses facing each other, and a driving method thereof. According to the embodiment of the present invention, a distance between a screen and a viewer is detected by a sensor. In correspondence to it, a high-quality flat image and a stereoscopic image can be realized by adaptively controlling a distance between the lenticular lenses.
