The present invention relates to a new Baeyer-Villiger monooxygenase (BVMO) derived from a metagenome extracted from a tidal flat soil, and more particularly to a meta-genomic DNA library derived from a metagenomic DNA library extracted from a tidal flat, A novel BVMO having Bayer-Bilgerio oxidizing activity selected using the HTS method and a gene encoding the BVMO and a recombinant microorganism transformed with the gene. The novel BVMO according to the present invention can be used for converting lactone compounds such as production of various expensive medical intermediates by reacting ketone compounds of various structures to produce lactone compounds.
