PHARMACEUTICAL COMPOSITION FOR REDUCING THE COMPLICATIONS OF THE USE OF STEROID DRUGS IN THE TREATMENT OF OPHTHALMIC DISEASES

1. A pharmaceutical composition suitable for administering a steroid compound into the eye, which comprises a combination of (a) a mixture of lipid mass comprising a phospholipid or a mixture of phospholipids; and (b) a solution of a steroid compound containing an effective amount of a steroid compound used in ophthalmic practice, a derivative thereof, a pharmaceutically acceptable salt or prodrug thereof; in which the total amount of phospholipids in said composition is from about 0.1 μmol to less than about 2, 5 μmol per 50 μl of the pharmaceutical composition and the side effects of this composition are less compared to the same composition, but containing at least about 5 μmol of phospholipids per 50 μl of the pharmaceutical oh composition. 2. The pharmaceutical composition of claim 1, wherein the lipid mixture further comprises cholesterol. The pharmaceutical composition of claim 1, wherein the steroid compound used in ophthalmic practice is water soluble. The pharmaceutical composition of claim 3, wherein the steroid compound used in ophthalmic practice is dexamethasone sodium phosphate. The pharmaceutical composition of claim 4, wherein the dose of dexamethasone sodium phosphate is from about 0.6 to about 0.7 mg of dexamethasone. The pharmaceutical composition of claim 1, wherein said lipid mixture further comprises a cryoprotective agent. The pharmaceutical composition of claim 6, wherein the cryoprotective agent is mannitol. The pharmaceutical composition of claim 1, wherein said lipid mixture further comprises a buffer solution. The pharmaceutical composition of claim 8, wherein said buffer
