A door-closer housing (2) accommodates in its interior a closer drive, preferably a closing spring. In its longitudinal direction, the door-closer housing (2) extends in the direction of the line of action (9) of the force exerted by the closer drive. A housing wall (3) of the door-closer housing (2) has an opening in at least one longitudinal end of the door-closer housing (2) that is sealed by a housing cover (4). The housing cover (4) extends in the transverse direction of the door-closer housing (2) and is supported in the longitudinal direction thereof on the housing wall (3) by means of a pin connection (10). A connecting pin (11) of the pin connection (10) is supported on the housing wall (3) in the longitudinal direction of the door-closer housing (2) and supports, in turn, the housing cover (4) in the longitudinal direction of the door-closer housing (2). A door closer (1) has a door-closer housing (2) of the type described above.
