An offshore S-lay pipelaying vessel (300) for laying a pipeline on the seabed, said vessel comprising an elongated stinger (310) being adapted to support the pipeline to be laid from the vessel, wherein the stinger (310) comprises a stinger frame which is composed of at least two rigid stinger frame sections (311, 312): a hull section (311) and a distal section (312), which are connected to each other via at least one connection assembly (340) suitable to fixate the stinger frame sections in at least two different orientations, the connection assembly comprising at least two overlapping connection elements (345, 346), which are each pivotably connected to the respective stinger frame sections and pivotably connected to each other, and which may be fixed to each other in at least two different orientations, such that the orientation of the stinger frame sections can be varied without disconnection of the connection elements.
