In flexible package (10), a one-way valve (18) may include a substrate (12) forming a portion of the flexible package (10) and having at least one inlet score (20), a top sheet (22) having at least one outlet score (24) and secured thereto by an adhesive (32) to define a valve chamber (34) in which the substrate (12) and the top sheet (22) are not permanently adhered to each other, and a liquid film (36) within the valve chamber (34) and adhering the top sheet (22) to the substrate (12) within the valve chamber (34) until a pressure differential exists causing gases (42) to pass through the one-way valve (18). The inlet scores (20) and the outlet scores (24) may be non-linear, or may be linear scores that are not parallel to each other to prevent the scores from collapsing on themselves and preventing gas flow when the package (10) buckles.
