PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an X-ray image diagnostic apparatus capable of easily discriminating a degree of expansion of a stent diameter on a transparent image.SOLUTION: An X-ray image diagnostic apparatus 1 includes an X-ray irradiation unit 104 for applying an X-ray to a subject 100 with a stent inserted thereinto, an X-ray detection unit 112 for detecting an X-ray that has transmitted through the subject 100, and an image processing unit 114 for acquiring a signal outputted from the X-ray detection unit 112 and perform image processing to create an X-ray image. The image processing unit 114 includes a gradation image processing unit for calculating a degree of expansion of the diameter of the stent using an image of the stent in the X-ray image, and creating an image with varied gradation in accordance with the degree of expansion.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 1
