Provided is an exhaust heat recovery device 13 for an engine 1 including a Rankine cycle 14, the device including a steam accumulator 20 that stores a surplus working medium, which is a surplus of a working medium for driving a turbine 17, and a leveling line 21 that discharges the stored surplus working medium from the steam accumulator 20 to the turbine 17, when the turbine 17 cannot output predetermined power only with the working medium flowing out from a boiler 16, and levels the power outputted from the turbine 17. With this configuration, since the power outputted from the turbine 17 can be leveled without reduction of the power, even if the working medium cannot vaporize with the boiler 16 immediately after start-up, immediately before stop, or during a low-load operation of the engine 1, exhaust heat from the engine 1 can be efficiently used.
