PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain affector information that causes the inclination of a fault-related plot to change in order to promote fault analysis.SOLUTION: When a plot between the use period that could be the cause of a fault and the frequency of fault occurrence has at least one or more inflection points, the existence probabilities PAt, PBt of a plurality of affectors A, B that cause a fault to occur, the affectors corresponding to each of areas preceding and following the inflection point in the plot, are defined in accordance with probability distribution. The relative rates RAt, RBt of the existence probabilities PAt, PBt of the plurality of affectors A, B in an area including the inflection point and locations preceding and following the inflection point are defined. An information entropy function CH(t) is set on the basis of the relative rates RAt, RBt. The parameters of the existence probabilities PAt, PBt that satisfy the information entropy function CH(t) are calculated on the basis of the information Oe of the plot. The existence probabilities PAt, PBt of the plurality of affectors are calculated using the parameters as affector information in fault analysis.
