PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an electric vehicle capable of controlling decrease of possible traveling distance by output restriction of a power storage device and restricting traveling stops as much as possible.SOLUTION: A hybrid vehicle 1 comprises a traveling motor generator 50, an engine 10, a direct-current power source 80 and an ECU 120. When an EV is traveling, in which the engine 10 is stopped and only the motor generator 50 is used, the ECU 120 increases possible output power of the direct-current power source 80. When the engine 10 is abnormal, the ECU 120 executes saving traveling using only the motor generator 50. In saving traveling, the ECU 120 reduces the amount of increase of possible output power than in not saving traveling.
