Security means (12,17) for securing users (2) of a saw table (1), which comprise detection means (18) and control means (21) provided on the saw table (1) for monitoring a zone (23) around a saw blade (5) of the saw table (1), wherein the presence of body parts (16) of a user (2) within the aforementioned zone (23) is detected by the detection means (18) and wherein the control means (21) the saw blade (5) is automatically stopped as soon as such presence of body parts (16) of a user (2) within this zone (23) is detected by the detection means (18).
