The invention relates to a system for displaying an avatar (A) of a subject of study, the avatar (A) being inscribed within an encompassing digital volume (BV), said system comprising an electronic device (10) and an electronic object (30), said electronic device (10) and said electronic object (30) comprising respectively the first and second means of communication ensuring a communication between said device (10) and said object (30), possibly wire-based or wireless. The electronic object (30) furthermore comprises a graphical interface (31) enabling the display to a user of said system of an avatar (A) of a subject of study. The geometric shape of the encompassing digital volume (BV) and the geometric shape of the exterior envelope (10e) of said electronic device (10) are mutually arranged so as to be substantially identical. According to an exemplary application preferred in conjunction with medical imaging, the subject of study may consist of an organ of interest, such as a human brain.
