Disclosed in the present application are a multimedia program playing method and system based on emotion of a user. The method comprises the following steps: detecting a physiological parameter of a user; determining an emotion mode of the user according to the physiological parameter; and playing a specific multimedia program according to the emotion mode. Also disclosed in the present application is a multimedia program playing system based on emotion of a user. The system comprises a physiological indicator detection unit, an emotion mode determining unit, and a program playing unit. By using the technical solution of the present application, some suitable songs or multimedia files can be automatically played according to emotion of a user, so that the user feels more comfortable in emotion. The present application enhances the artificial intelligence capability of a mobile phone, thereby achieving the effect of good user experience.
