VACCINE COMPOSITION COMPRISING MTBK_20640 PROTEIN FOR PREVENTING TUBERCULOSIS

The present invention relates to a vaccine composition comprising an MTBK_20640 protein for preventing tuberculosis, and to a pharmaceutical composition comprising MTBK_20640 protein for treating or preventing tuberculosis. According to the present invention, the MTBK_20640 protein exhibits high capacity of generating IFN-γ in the spleen and lung of an animal model induced to have infection by tubercular bacillus, and retains rapid formation of acquired protective immunity and memorization of T-cells, thereby effectively preventing tuberculosis. Particularly, the MTBK_20640 protein induces generation of multifunctional T-cells recently known to be crucial in preventing tuberculosis. Also, the MTBK_20640 protein can be used to treat tuberculosis, and is useful to prevent recurrence or reinfection of highly pathogenic tuberculosis having a high recurrence rate and to increase treatment efficacy.;COPYRIGHT KIPO 2017
