The invention relates to an electrode assembly of a cochlear implant having a plurality of electrodes for stimulating nerve cells by means of electrical pulses, wherein a tubular manipulator for continuous deforming manipulation with the electrode assembly is mechanically connected or integrated into the electrode assembly. The invention also relates to an automated actuator for a tubular manipulator and to a use of a tubular manipulator for placing an electrode assembly of a cochlear implant in a predetermined target position in a cochlea.
