The invention relates to a link chain, particularly a plough chain, for a subterranean coal plough system. The link chain is formed of chain links engaging movably with one another. Each chain link (2, 3) has two chain-link legs (4, 5) and chain-link elbows (6, 7) connecting the chain-link legs (4, 5). According to the invention, the chain-link legs (4, 5) are each provided with a wear-protection body, (8, 9) which extends around the chain-link leg (4, 5) over the majority of the periphery thereof. The wear-protection bodies (8, 9) are formed by half-shells (11, 12) which are preferably materially bonded to the chain-link legs (4, 5).
