PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a cradle guide of a variable displacement axial piston pump capable of satisfying all of load bearing, abrasion resistance and low friction characteristic even under a high surface pressure condition that surface pressure exceeds 10 MPa, and a variable displacement axial piston pump using the cradle guide.SOLUTION: A cradle guide 1 slidably contacts with a cradle 3 configured to adjust a piston stroke in a variable displacement axial piston pump, wherein the cradle 3 can oscillate. A contact surface with the cradle 3 comprises a porous layer provided on one surface of a metal base material, and a resin composition-containing layer covering the porous layer. The resin composition contains, in polytetrafluoroethylene resin, melting fluororesin having lower melting point than that of the polytetrafluoroethylene resin, and powder-like filler, but does not contain fiber-like filler.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 1
