PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide means for preventing the useless actuation of a safety device of an overspeed governor system (2,52) by inertia of an overspeed governor rope in the technical field of an elevator system.SOLUTION: An overspeed governor system has a speed governor rope (3,53) connected to a running mass (6,7) of an elevator system (1), a mechanical brake (16) which performs a sudden stop of the running mass (6,7) by decreasing a speed of the running mass (6,7), a safety device (4,54) attached to the running mass (6,7), a synchronization connection mechanism (14,64) which actuates the safety device (4,54), and a synchronization connection mechanism block device (15) which blocks the synchronization connection mechanism (14,64) and/or a speed governor brake (5,55) which controls a speed governor rope (3,53) and determines whether a sudden stop of the running mass (6,7) is performed or not and if a sudden stop of the running mass (6,7) is performed, actuates the speed governor brake (5,55) or the synchronization connection mechanism block device (15).SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 1
