A floating and semi-submersible wind turbine platform structure is provided. The floating wind turbine platform includes three long stabilizing struts, each stabilizing strut having an upper end, a keel end, and an outer shell that houses an inner shaft. Each stable post further includes a water entrapment plate in the keel of the stable post that protrudes in a cantilevered manner in a plane perpendicular to the longitudinal axis of the stable post. The floating wind turbine platform also includes three truss members, each truss member including two horizontal main tubular members and two diagonal tubular members. The truss member is connected to a stable post, thereby forming a triangular cross section.
