PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for estimating true values of evaluation items of an evaluation object, capable of estimating a virtual true value having an average value of numerical values of evaluation results to be converged according to increasing the number of a plurality of evaluation subjects without obtaining many evaluation results when the evaluation subjects, respectively, digitize and estimate the evaluation items of the evaluation object.SOLUTION: A true value estimation method for estimating a virtual true value having an average value of numerical values of evaluation results to be converged according to increasing the number of monitors without increasing the number of the monitors when the monitors, for example, as a plurality of evaluation subjects digitize and estimate some evaluation items concerning a lens, for example, as an evaluation object comprises the steps of: calculating numerical values reflecting the magnitude of accurate estimation ability of the monitors estimating the evaluation items for each monitor; and estimating a true value in consideration of a weight for each monitor calculated on the basis of the numerical values.
