A method for performing the Explosive Depth Hardening of railway crossings by creating direct force and shock waves is disclosed. The railway crossing comprises a nose and wings. River sand is placed over the hard surface before arranging the crossing on the hardening bed. Any uneven surface is grinded away from EDH portion of the crossing through sand blast. A plurality of wooden molds is prepared to roll the charge for the nose with an inclined angle. Roll charge strip sheet is placed n wooden molds and gluing the surface of crossing and affixing a tape with adhesive portion facing upward holding the charge together forming an even sheet of charge. An explosive on the charge is placed beyond the railway crossing and detonate the explosive subjecting the surface and under lying portion to undergo extremely high shocks of short duration involving pressures.
