This gait assistance system includes: an information output unit (260); a movement detection unit (220) that detects movement of a user; a footstrike location detection unit (230) that detects a footstrike location by the user; a determination unit (240) that determines a recommended footstrike location which is a footstrike location that is appropriate for stabilizing ambulatory movement of the user, on the basis of ambulatory movement of the user detected by the movement detection unit, the footstrike location detected by the footstrike location detection unit, and dynamics; and an output control unit (250) that outputs information indicating the recommended footstrike location determined by the determination unit to the information output unit.
