The present invention relates to a nitrate coating composition for the reduction of methane gas in a rumen of ruminant animals, and a production method of the same. The nitrate coating composition includes soybean protein powder, nitrate, oils, and a stabilizer, thereby inhibiting the generation of methane gas inside a rumen; and does not generate nitrite, which is a toxic substance generated from using uncoated nitrate.
