Techniques are provided to enable signaling of physical layer parameters of a shared radio frequency spectrum band or a dedicated radio frequency spectrum band (or any available radio frequency spectrum band). One or more physical layer channels may be used to transmit physical layer parameters, and different portions of the channel (s) may carry physical layer information for different groups of UEs. The base station may configure the UE as a UE group that monitors specific channel resources based on the UE group. In this manner, the base station may transmit physical layer parameters that may be received by the UE to receive wireless communications for one or more subframes. The base station may transmit physical layer parameters to be monitored by use of a physical hybrid control channel (PHICH) channel, a physical control format indicator channel (PCFICH), a physical downlink control channel (PDCCH) can do.
