A method of delaying network reselection by a wireless communication device following a call failure, comprising: by a wireless communication device: establishing a connection to an LTE (Long Term Evolution) network; engaging a circuit switched fallback (CSFB) method to change the wireless communication device from the LTE network to an older type network to handle a voice call over a circuit-switched (CS) area; trying the voice call over the older-style network; determining an incoming call error associated with the voice call; inhibiting a reselection of the LTE Network for the duration of a threshold lockout period after determining the occurrence of the call failure; attempting a subsequent voice call over the legacy network during the threshold lockout period; andre-dialing to the LTE network after expiration of the threshold barring period if attempting the subsequent voice call fails.
