Optical measurement of forces and torques in gears and motors using Fabry-Perot cavity

Gearboxes or motors or a combination thereof can be optimized if, for example, occurring length changes, strains, forces and torques can be measured. The use of Fabry-Perot cavities can improve the measurement in comparison to conventional measuring technology by means of strain gauges or enable measurements at hitherto inaccessible places.
