The invention relates to a rechargeable lithium-ion battery cell containing as active cathode material a composite material, which is based on the total weight of the composite material from 90.00 to 99.00 wt .-% lithium nickel phosphate (LiNiPO4) or lithium manganese phosphate (LiMnPO4), 0.05 to 0.50 wt .-%, preferably 0.1 wt .-% lithium cobalt phosphate (LiCoPO4) and the remainder to 100 wt .-% in the form of at least one carbonaceous material. The lithium-ion battery cell advantageously comprises an electrolyte containing a barbiturate or a mixture of two or more barbiturates, and a nonionic surfactant or a mixture of two or more nonionic surfactants as additives. The present invention also relates to a lithium-ion battery having a plurality of lithium-ion battery cells according to the present invention and a method for producing the composite material according to the present invention.
