A system according to the present disclosure includes an estimated attachments angle module, a measured attachments angle module, a corrected attachments angle module, at least one of a driver lifting module and an actuator control module. The estimated attachments angle module estimates a attachments angle, an angle between a vehicle longitudinal axis of a vehicle and a vehicle longitudinal axis of a trailer, which is secured to the vehicle. The measured attachments angle module determines a measured attachments angle based on an input of a sensor. The corrected attachments angle module determines from the estimated and the measured attachments angles a corrected attachments angle. Lifting the driver module controls a user interface device for assisting the driver of the vehicle based on the corrected attachments angle. The actuator - control module controls a final control element of at least one of the vehicles and of the trailer, based on the corrected attachments angle.n="27"
