The present invention relates to a seat structure comprising a frame (2) pivotally mounted to rotate about a transverse axis (x) on two lateral yokes (3) between a raised position and a folded-down position, a device (10) of the folding comprising a spiral spring (11) is wound around a rod extending along said axis (x) and fixed to said frame (2), the inner end of said spring (11) being rotationally integral with said rod, while its outer end is held by a stop (6) formed on a fork (3) so that said spring (11) urges said backrest frame (2) to the folded-down position, said device (10) comprising a stop element (15) fixed to said outer end of said spring (11) and comprising a bearing surface resting against the abutment (6), said bearing surface and the outer end of said spring (11) being offset angularly around the transverse axis (x).
