The present invention relates to a method for measuring the pressure (Pr, Pr ') of a gaseous fuel compressed in a feed system (S') of a motor (M) fitted to a motor vehicle, using a pressure measuring device (D) comprising a quality sensor (500) infra red and an electronic control unit (700), the measuring method being characterized in that it consists in determining a value of corrected absorbance (Abs2corr, Abs2corr) of the fuel from absorbance measurements (Abs1, Abs2) carried out by infrared analysis, at predetermined wavelengths (λ1, λ2), and comparing said value with a value of nominal absorbance (Absn, Absn ') determined beforehand from absorbance measurements taken at a nominal pressure (Pn) after a stabilization phase of the fuel pressure (Δt1) and at the same wavelengths (λ1, λ2), in order to determine the pressure (Pr, Pr ') of the fuel.
