To provide a packaging method for increasing the shelf life of fungal spores, and to provide the packaging that contains such spores.SOLUTION: A packaging method comprises predrying spores in the water activity range viable against an objective fungus, subsequently filling a gas-and-steam-impermeable package with the spores using a small bag, thereby providing an atmosphere with a low relative humidity and low oxygen content, subsequently, and before exposure thereof to high temperature, retaining the spores in the package for a given period of time at a temperature suitable for the spores.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 1
