To provide an ink composition for printing capable of forming an indicator layer good in adhesiveness with a substrate or a target, and of which a color tone significantly changes in a prescribed time at uniform thickness, and a time indicator using the same.SOLUTION: There is provided an ink composition for printing containing calcium hydroxide, an indication dye, and a binder resin, in which the indication dye is a compound of which a color tone changes when pH changes from an alkaline region to a natural region, content of the calcium hydroxide in the ink composition for printing is 50 mass% to 94 mass%, content of the indication dye is 0.1 mass% to 5.0 mass% and content of the binder resin is 0.9 mass% to 49.9 mass%. There is provided a time indicator 10 having a substrate 1, and an indicator layer 2 containing the ink composition for printing.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 1
