PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an intake/exhaust control method capable of properly taking in and exhausting aseptic air regardless of the temperature of a liquid stored in a surge tank, an intake/exhaust control mechanism, and a surge tank.SOLUTION: An intake/exhaust control method of taking in and exhausting air through a vent pipe having a disinfection filter so that air pressure inside a surge tank becomes a prescribed target value includes: measurement steps (S1, S7, S12) of air pressure; determination steps (S2, S10) of determining that a measurement value Pis lower or higher than a target value Pby comparing the measurement value Pand the target value P; an air intake step (S11) of taking air in the surge tank when the measurement value Pis determined to be lower than the target value P(S10; YES); and an air exhaust step (S6) of exhausting the air from the surge tank when the measurement value Pis determined to be higher than the target value P(S2; YES).
