To provide a measurement mechanism and a measurement method which enable quick spatial collation by simplifying the spatial collation of measurement data.SOLUTION: A measurement mechanism 1 includes a sensor system 2 and a compound type state detection system 6. The compound type state detection system 6 includes: an inertial sensor 7 as a first non-collation type state detection system; and a stereo camera system having a first camera 8 and a second camera 9 as a second non-collation type state detection system. The first non-collation type state detection system detects first arrangement data and orientation data with respect to a three-dimensional coordinate system 11 in the system. The second non-collation type state detection system detects second arrangement data and orientation data with respect to a three-dimensional coordinate system 12 in the system. The image data of coordinate systems 13, 14 detected respectively by the first camera 8 and second camera 9 are converted into the three-dimensional coordinate system 12 in the system by a control/evaluation device 10.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 1
