The present invention addresses the problem of providing a textured vegetable protein material which is closely similar to thin meat slices in appearance and texture and usable as a substitute for thin meat slices. The textured vegetable protein material is characterized by containing 0.5-5 wt% based on a dry basis of an alkali metal salt, having a thickness of 0.4 m (inclusive) to 3 mm (exclusive) and having a corrugated shape.
