It is an object of the present invention to provide a textured vegetable protein material that can be used as a sliced meat substitute, whose appearance and texture are very similar to those of a sliced meat. A textured vegetable protein material comprising 0.5 to 5% by weight of an alkali metal salt in a dry weight, having a thickness of 0.4 mm or more and less than 3 mm, and having a wavy shape.
