PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To survey even a natural ground of which pore wall is prone to collapse, directly acquire a situation of the natural ground, and perform survey by simple work.SOLUTION: The geological survey method in front of a tunnel working face, includes: in a process where a natural ground in front of a working face S is drilled by a drill jumbo 2 that includes a drifter 2a moving forward/backward freely, on a guide cell 2b, and a drilling machine mounted thereon for performing drilling by a rod 3 having a drilling bit 4 at a tip end, when the drill jumbo reaches a geological survey site, temporarily stopping the drilling; retreating the rod 3 along with the drifter 2a by a prescribed distance to separate the drifter 2a from the rod 3; sending an endoscope insertion section 6 of an industrial endoscope apparatus 1 from a base end side of the rod 3 through a drilling water feed passage 3a; causing a distal end to project from a drilling water discharge hole 5 of the drilling bit 4 to the outside; and surveying a situation of the natural ground in front of the drilling bit 4 by the endoscope insertion section 6.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 2
