Aspects of the subject disclosure may include, for example, a method including comparing call volume of call sessions associated with a wireless network node of a communication network to a threshold volume to identify a suspicious communication event, identifying robotic calls in the call sessions associated with the suspicious communication event, identifying a mobile communication device associated with the robotic calls, providing, by the processing system, identification information associated with the mobile communication device to a core network function of the communication network and a second wireless network node of the communication network according to a robotic call policy.
