A peer-to-peer wireless communications method between a main device, DH, and a remote near-field communication end, NFC, in which the DH is configured in a listening mode, the method comprising: receiving (504) , in the DH, parameter request request message from the remote end of NFC; determining (402), by the main device, DH, that one or more parameter values included in the parameter selection request message are different from one or more corresponding parameter values used during the discovery of the remote end of field communication close, NFC, using a radio frequency, RF, raster interface; and communicating (404), via the DH, one or more parameter values to an NFC controller using a parameter update message, wherein the parameter update message requests the NFC controller to change the one or more values of corresponding parameters used during the discovery to one or more parameter values included in the parameter selection request message
