Leakage sealing device in a pipeline (10) having at least one hole or fissure (12), comprising an elastomer plate (14) applied at the leakage location by a force distributor (16) and a clamp strap (20, 22) disposed around the pipe for applying a force to the force distributor. The force distributor is composed of a support grid and independent force modules, each of the modules being slidably placed in one of the mesh of the grid and arranged perpendicular to the pipe so as to apply shear forces on the elastomer plate at the location of the leak causing the elastomer to deform so as to conform to the concave or convex shape of the pipe at the location of the leak and thus plug the hole or crack.
