The present invention relates to a method for diagnosing metabolic syndrome via bacterial metagenomic analysis and, more particularly, to a method for diagnosing metabolic syndrome by performing bacterial metagenomic analysis by means of samples derived from a normal person and a subject and analyzing variations in the contents of extracellular vesicles derived from certain bacteria. Extracellular vesicles secreted from bacteria that are present in the environment may be absorbed into bodies and have a direct influence on the immune and metabolic functions of our bodies, and metabolic syndrome is difficult to diagnose at an early stage prior to the appearance of symptoms thereof and thus makes efficient treatment difficult. The metagenomic analysis of extracellular vesicles, derived from bacteria, using samples derived from human bodies, according to the present invention, allows prediction of the incidence risk of metabolic syndrome, thus allows early diagnosis and prediction of a metabolic syndrome risk group and can delay the time of onset or prevent the occurrence of the syndrome through appropriate management, and also can lower the incidence rate of metabolic syndrome and increase the effect of treatment by enabling early diagnosis after the onset.
