This rewriting device is provided with: a communication unit which transmits to/receives from another communication unit, connected air conditioning apparatus information indicating information on an apparatus; an apparatus selection unit which selects, on the basis of the connected air conditioning apparatus information, an apparatus in which software is to be updated; and an update unit which updates the software of the apparatus that has become an apparatus which is selected by the apparatus selection unit and in which the software is to be updated.
