The present application discloses and claims a process for producing flexible ceramic fibers (Flexiramics ( TM )) and polymer composites. The formed composites have improved mechanical strength (tensile) when compared to Flexiramics TM nanofibers alone. In addition, the composite has better properties such as lower flame retardancy, higher thermal conductivity and lower thermal expansion than the polymer alone. Several different polymers may be used, such as thermosets and thermoplastics. Flexiramics has inherent physical properties and composites can be used in a variety of industrial and laboratory applications.
