The present invention relates to a logic of a breaker failure (BF) protective element for a generator circuit breaker (GCB) in a power plant by using an apparent power detective element, which prevents a BF of a GCB by using an apparent power detective element at a low current, and prevents the BF of the GCB by using a current detective element at a high current. To this end, the logic of a BF protective element for a GCB in a power plant by using an apparent power detective element comprises a current detective element, an apparent power detective element and a BF protective element operating unit.
