The present invention relates to a hands-off warning apparatus and a method for a steering wheel, wherein the hands-off warning apparatus comprises: sensors detecting steering column torque and z-axis acceleration; a processing machine determining a hands-on/off state based on the steering column torque and the z-axis acceleration, and giving a warning when it is determined to be in a hands-off state as a result of the determination; and an output device outputting a warning in accordance with control of the processing machine.;COPYRIGHT KIPO 2019
