The present invention relates to a drain for improving a conventional drain structure and a construction method thereof. According to the present invention, the construction method of a drain for improving a conventional drain structure comprises the following steps: removing an ascon layer and an upper side of the conventional drain; punching a hole for inserting an anchor bolt in a concrete layer exposed by removing the ascon layer; inserting an anchor bolt into the punched hole and fixating it; engaging a flange fixing unit with the anchor bo a step of successively putting a water collection flange, height control unit, and cover plate on the flange fixing unit to fixate the same on the flange fixing unit with a fastening unit; and filling the surroundings of the water collection flange and height control unit with ascon to recover the ascon layer. Accordingly, the present invention is able to, when removing a conventional drain and forming a new drain, remove only the drain on the part coming under the ascon layer without completely removing the conventional drain, to leave the conventional drain on the remaining part since it is to be used to improve the structure to allow the rainwater gathered on the concrete layer to be discharged, to remove only the ascon layer by cutting to reduce the work difficulty and required time, to eliminate the necessity of placing a frame or concrete, and to promote convenience in performing such work.;COPYRIGHT KIPO 2019
