The present invention relates to a method for producing carbon quantum dots using fibroin and a carbon quantum dots prepared therefrom. The method for producing a carbon quantum dot of the present invention is economical and environmentally friendly, and the obtained carbon quantum dot is excellent in biocompatibility and a fluorescence signal is also suitable.
