A multi-layer polyimide film comprising at least two polyimide layers stacked together, wherein each polyimide layer comprises a polyimide-based polymer formed by reacting diamine and dianhydride components at substantially the same molar ratio, wherein at least one The polyimide layer further comprises a polyimide powder distributed on the polyimide-based polymer, wherein the polyimide powder has a weight ratio of about 20 to about 50 wt% of the total weight of the layer into which it is incorporated. The multi-layer polyimide film has a 60 DEG gloss value of at most about 5 on at least one surface of the film. Embodiments described herein also include methods of making polyimide films and polyimide powders.
