To provide a method for acquiring a clearer pulmonary nodule clarified image via false positive suppression.SOLUTION: A false positive suppression method for a pulmonary nodule clarified image includes: a first step of acquiring a pulmonary nodule clarified image; a second step of acquiring a background noise suppression image from the pulmonary nodule clarified image; a third step of applying an error diffusion method to the pulmonary nodule clarified image to acquire a binary image; a fourth step of extracting a nodule shadow from the binary image using rank filter processing to acquire a point image; a fifth step of performing labeling processing on the point image to perform authenticity determination on whether or not a labeled area size is equal to or larger than a predetermined threshold with respect to a false nodule existing in a pulmonary hilum/mediastinal portion; a sixth step of combining the pulmonary nodule clarified image with the background noise suppression image on the basis of the point image to acquire a pulmonary nodule clarified image having a suppressed false positive shadow, when it is determined at the fifth step that the area size is equal to or larger than the threshold; and a seventh step of repeating the sixth step until the area size becomes equal to or larger than the threshold after deleting a label from the point image, when it is determined at the fifth step that the area size is smaller than the threshold.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 1
