To provide a centering method of a fluid pipe buried in the ground in which, even if being the fluid pipe buried in the ground, the centering work can be performed easily, and provide a centering apparatus for use in the same.SOLUTION: A centering/joining method includes: a step of mounting a rotary drive device 4 in one end of a fluid pipe 2, and holding a rotary drive device 4 movably in the direction being perpendicular to the pipe axis direction of the fluid pipe 2; a step of holding at least the other end of the fluid pipe 2 movably and rotatably in the direction being perpendicular to the pipe axis direction of the fluid pipe 2; a step of rotating the fluid pipe 2 to be buried in the ground by the rotary drive device 4, and stirring the ground around the fluid pipe 2 by an excavation function unit 3; and a step of aligning the fluid pipe 2 to the fluid pipe 2 buried in the ground earlier by moving the fluid pipe in the direction being perpendicular to the pipe axis direction.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 1
